A central, site-wide, Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS) system connects and manages all the attributes necessary to perform an analysis, from sample collection right through to instrument data collection, including the analyst and instrument used to test the material; all this information is collated and presented to the client in a standard format. This means that every sample submitted by a client is treated in exactly the same way.

Registered Users

To manage this information a user is presented with a dashboard, similar to the one illustrated here, this dashboard represents all the samples that a registered user is responsible for. From this dashboard a user can register a sample, assign analytical tests, build sample profiles and testing regimes, or just monitor the progress of a sample through the tesing process.

The whole process is managed through a controlled access user portal supported by a robust database; to gain access to this dashboard you need to apply to become a registered user. As a registered user you WILL always have access to your data.

EtchantsUK is a collection of cleaning and etching solutions extracted from the open technical literature from about 1940 to the present. It began when Waterfall & O'Brien was asked to supply small volume, hazardous chemicals to companies in and around Bristol manufacturing components for the aerospace industry industry and the need to control & standardise these reagents when verifying the metallographic structure of those components in a quality control environment. Over the years our portfolio of solutions for cleaning, removal, polishing and defect development has increased to include all the reagents listed in ASTMS E407 and our customer base has expanded into automotive, forensics, education, research & development. Here in this single website, all major metal elements, and the majority of metallic compounds currently involved in our High Technology fields are presented for research and purchase.

With the continual influx of new scientists, engineers and technicians into the Metals, Solid State, Electronic or Silicate and Ceramic fields, there is always "need-to-know" availability of chemical solutions already developed. The objective of EtchantsUK is to present at least one solution for all major metals and metallic compounds in current use and/or under development for immediate, hands-on application, and can be used as "starting place" for further specific solution development. Hopefully, those who have an immediate need-to-know will find it of use.

Resource planning & customer relations is managed through our central ERP/CRM software, access to this software provides unique opportunities to use our on-line resource library and to become an editor at our on-line technical support website; here you will have the opportunity to contribute to the knowledgebase of this site and use your knowledge and experiences to inform like-minded researchers.
